Salary Survey and Employer's Guide

The purpose of the BCNPHA 2008 Salary Survey, which is the first salary survey to be conducted for the non-profit housing sector since 2000, is to provide non-profit housing providers with comparative data on salaries and benefits. The survey comprises a component of BCNPHA's human resources initiative, The Non-Profit Housing Employer's Guide. This survey represents the BC non-profit housing sector only. The Non-Profit Housing Employer's Guide is a workbook (includes a CD in MS Word format) which outlines a step-by-step approach to creating job descriptions and pay scales for non-profit housing societies. Policy Template Guide

Whether you're a new society that needs to create a complete policy manual from scratch, or an established one whose policies need revision or better organization, the template makes the process painless. More than a set of "sample" policies, the template is designed as a dynamic tool that provides users with options on a variety of topics that they can customize to develop their own policies and procedures, including financial management, administration, maintenance, tenants, seniors/supportive housing, and special needs.

Tenancy Agreement Template

BCNPHA's Tenancy Agreement Template is a flexible tool which helps non-profit landlords to understand and comply with the Residential Tenancy Act. Housing providers will find everything they need in the binder and on the companion CD, to produce a customized tenancy agreement for their Society and their particular circumstances. It includes all of the Standard Terms, as well as additional terms that apply specifically to non-profit rental housing.

Privacy Policy Template

All private organizations are required to comply with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). THIS INCLUDES NON-PROFIT HOUSING SOCIETIES. PIPA regulates the collection, use and disclosure of personal information about anyone. That includes information collected about staff, volunteers and directors, but most critical for housing providers is the protection of information collected about applicants and tenants. All organizations must have a policy about how they comply with PIPA in their operations. BCNPHA has developed a Privacy Policy Template, available electronically or on disk.

Financing Seniors' Housing Projects Using Resident Equity

British Columbians are aging, and a variety of housing solutions will be needed to meet emerging needs.
