Leading, Supporting, and Serving the Non-Profit Housing Sector

Research

Six hundred non-profit housing societies offer more than 50,000 units of affordable, non-market housing to British Columbians in need. The BCNPHA Research Department has created a comprehensive database of these societies and their buildings through our Asset Analysis project. The database contains a broad range of information which allows us to plan for the social, environmental and economic sustainability of the non-profit housing sector in BC. It also forms the evidence-base for the advocacy work we do on behalf of member agencies.

You can learn more about the Asset Analysis project through our Asset Analysis Backgrounder

The Research department uses data from the Asset Analysis to carry out custom data requests for partners who are working with or in the non-profit housing sector. These requests may include quantitative overviews of the sector to inform discussions of affordable housing, or other types of data analysis on key issues of concern. We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Real Estate Foundation of BC, the Vancity Community Foundation, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon on this project.
