On July 4th, CMHC announced a new Federal / Provincial / Territorial Framework for Affordable Housing, in place for 2011 - 2014. Under the $1.4 billion Framework, provinces and territories will have the flexibility to invest in a range of programs and initiatives that will improve access to affordable housing according to specific local needs and priorities. Federal funds will be provided to the provinces through bilateral agreements and will be matched 50-50 by provincial contributions.
