T34: Exploring Housing Options for People with Developmental Disabilities
This session will introduce the findings of the 2009 Exploring Housing Options for Persons with Developmental Disabilities study. This research project (emanating from the Housing Working Group convened by Community Living BC) explores housing options for persons with developmental disabilities. The research identifies the unique housing barriers that prevent persons with developmental disabilities from accessing and retaining suitable, affordable housing, as well as innovative solutions to address these challenges.

T41: FUTURESOCIAL – The Results from UBC’s Supportive Housing Competition
The UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and the Ministry of Housing and Social Development on behalf of the Province of British Columbia held an architectural ideas competition for supportive housing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. The session will offer a discussion of the most important strategies discovered by the competition and how they can play a role in future housing projects.
