T1: Change Management Theory and Applications

Through instruction and participatory discussion, participants will take away from this workshop:

  • Techniques to assess the organizational environment;
  • Elements of a workable strategic plan that is sound but flexible;
  • Insight into how the plan is communicated and to whom; and
  • A comprehensive toolkit for organizational change.

T2: Residential Tenancy Law in Practice

This workshop, designed for non-profit-housing providers generally and assisted and supportive living providers specifically, will provide attendees with a base of knowledge and some practical tools for dealing with residential tenancy law issues in British Columbia.

T3: The Right Staff

This workshop will help you to:

  • Ensure your organization can fulfill the basic legal and administrative obligations of employers;
  • Identify the legislative framework within which the society must operate;
  • Evaluate and select management alternatives that meet the organization’s needs; and
  • Write effective job description/terms of reference for the positions in your organization.

T4: Program Evaluation – A Strategic Overview

Participants will leave the workshop having:

  • A clear understanding of the nature and purpose of program evaluation;
  • An overview of the main types of evaluation (formative/process, outcome/summative);
  • A good understanding of the range of methodologies available, including adapting the method to the budget and time constraints under which the organization is working; and
  • Experience the use of case study examples drawn from the participants, to ensure that the training is directly related to real-life situations they will face.
