The BCNPHA and the BC/Yukon Society of Transition Houses have been conducting a research project that combines photos and narratives provided by diverse women from across BC to portray the barriers they face in accessing long-term housing after fleeing a violent relationship. In this interactive session, we will: 1) exhibit the photos taken by the women who participated in the study; 2) identify the themes that emerged from the photos and narratives, and their relevance to the non-profit housing sector; and 3) facilitate a group discussion and brainstorming session on strategies for addressing the barriers and influencing policy.
