bullet BC Film Commission
You can register your property in the on-line BC Film database for film productions. Check the Community Services page of their Web site to learn how to do this. From this page, you can also find your local film coordinator (who processes film permits on behalf of municipal governments). The film coordinator may be a source of advice on film location contracts.

The Housing Provider Kit is an important resource. See the
  • Financial Management guide, Chapter 3 Resident Rent Revenues, for information on calculating market rents and an overview of rent charges, subsidies, arrears, and vacancy loss.
  • Rent Calculation guide for a thorough and easy-to-understand explanation of how to calculate geared-to-income tenant rent contributions, which in turn are used by BC Housing to calculate the appropriate subsidies.
  • Marketing Non-RGI Units guide for guidelines and tools on developing a marketing plan for before and after a building is occupied.
  • On-line Resource Directory for an extensive range of rent calculation and marketing forms that can be downloaded from Rent Calculation Forms (or order hard copies).

The Co-op Housing Bookstore on the CHFT Web site offers a number of inexpensive, practical guides written using plain language. Financial Management has a section on controlling arrears and a sample arrears procedure. Managing Arrears is a 60-page guide.

ONPHA produces a number of useful handbooks:
  • Financial Policies and Procedures Handbook. See Appendix 6 Rent Collection Procedures and the Forms section for rent payment letters and payment agreements.
  • Maintenance Planning Handbook. See Section 1.6.5 Preparing Units for a Change of Tenancy.

Each handbook comes with a diskette that includes all forms and sample policies. Order on-line. BCNPHA members pay the ONPHA member price.
